What is a score counter?
A score counter keeps the points for players or teams during a game or friendly competition. CountMetrik brings the scoreboard, timer, rounds or periods, Score Log, and finished-game history into one local browser tool.
Keeping score for players or teams
Start with two participants or add up to eight. Rename and arrange their cards before or during a game; the active board keeps that order stable while the standings change, helping prevent a moving target during fast scoring.
Quick points and score corrections
Use +1, +2, +3, and a configurable fourth step for common point values. Subtract one or edit a score directly to correct a mistake. Every real score change enters the Score Log and can be restored with Undo or Redo.
Using the game timer
Leave the timer off, count up, or count down from a preset or custom duration. Timestamp-based timing recovers elapsed or remaining time after a reload; reaching zero shows Time without changing scores or finishing the game.
Rounds, periods, and target scores
Optional segments can be named Round, Set, Period, Quarter, or with a short custom label. Advancing saves an immutable score snapshot and can keep totals or reset scores. A target and win-by helper is available for higher-score games without enforcing sport-specific rules.
Score history and final standings
The Score Log records chronological changes and segment snapshots without cluttering the active board. Finish a scored game to archive final standings, ties, segments, and the log, then share a text result or export formula-safe CSV files.
Fullscreen, local saving, and offline use
Fullscreen enlarges the working scoreboard, and optional Wake Lock can keep a supported screen awake. No account or cloud sync is required: active and finished games stay in this browser and a cached page can work offline.
Score Counter FAQ
How many players or teams can I track?
You can keep score for 2 to 8 players or teams. Their cards stay in the order you choose while the game is active, even when the ranking changes.
Can scores go below zero?
Yes, when Allow negative scores is enabled in Settings. It is off by default, so subtraction stops at zero until you deliberately enable negative whole-number scores.
Can I add 2 or 3 points at once?
Yes. Each participant has +1, +2, +3, and a fourth configurable quick-point button. All four steps can be changed to positive whole numbers in Settings.
Can I undo a score?
Yes. Undo and Redo restore the score, Score Log, segment history, standings, and related game state together. Direct score corrections are also recorded and undoable.
Does the timer keep working after a reload?
Yes. Count-up and countdown timers use saved timestamps, so elapsed or remaining time is reconstructed after a reload instead of relying on a browser tab running every second.
Can I track rounds or periods?
Yes. Optional segment tracking can use Round, Set, Period, Quarter, or a short custom label. Advancing stores a score snapshot and can either keep scores or reset them for the next segment.
Can I share the final score?
Yes. Finished games provide a text-only final result through the device Share feature when available, with a clipboard fallback, plus separate formula-safe summary and Score Log CSV exports.
Is this a live online scoreboard for spectators?
No. CountMetrik stores the active scoreboard on this device; it does not broadcast or synchronize scores between devices. You can use fullscreen locally and share or copy the final result.
