What is an inventory counter?
An inventory counter is a manual tool for recording actual stock during a stocktake or cycle count. CountMetrik keeps loose units, cases, and pallets separate, then converts each item into total base units without turning the count sheet into a long-term inventory database.
Units, cases, and pallets
Choose what you are counting before using the four quick buttons. Switching modes preserves every recorded component, so two pallets, three cases, and seven loose units remain visible as the actual physical breakdown.
Counting multiple inventory items
Add independent item lines to the Count Sheet, optionally label them with a SKU and location, and switch active items without mixing their totals. Session progress reports completed and remaining lines rather than adding unrelated products together.
Expected quantity, variance, and blind counts
Expected quantity is optional and always uses base units. Counted minus expected gives the variance. Blind count hides both expected quantity and variance until an item is completed, then hides them again if the line is reopened.
Changing package sizes safely
Package sizes can change freely before counting starts. Once an item has a count, changing units per case or cases per pallet requires confirmation and resets only that item's counts, preventing old taps from being silently reinterpreted.
Count sheets, history, and CSV export
Finish a count to archive every item with its package ratios, physical breakdown, expected quantity, variance, and completed or incomplete status. Export the active Count Sheet or archived sessions as formula-safe CSV.
Local saving, fullscreen, and offline use
Inventory data stays in this browser with no account or cloud sync. Fullscreen keeps field controls focused, optional Wake Lock can keep a supported screen awake, and a successfully cached visit can continue offline.
Manual counting without a scanner
CountMetrik is for manual counts when a scanner or inventory system is unnecessary or unavailable. It does not scan barcodes, look up products, adjust stock records, or connect to an ERP or point-of-sale system.

What is an inventory counter?

How do cases and pallets convert to units?
Each item has its own units-per-case and cases-per-pallet values. Total units equal loose units plus cases times units per case plus pallets times cases per pallet times units per case.
Can I switch between units, cases, and pallets while counting?
Yes. Switching the counting mode changes what the quick buttons add or subtract. It never changes the units, cases, or pallets already recorded.
What happens if I change package sizes after counting starts?
CountMetrik asks for confirmation before changing either package ratio. Confirming keeps the item details and expected quantity but resets that item's unit, case, and pallet counts so earlier taps are not silently reinterpreted.
Can I count multiple items or SKUs?
Yes. The Count Sheet keeps several independent item lines in one session. A SKU is optional; an item name is enough to start counting.
What is a blind inventory count?
Blind count hides an item's expected quantity and variance while the item is active. Completing the item reveals the comparison; reopening it hides the comparison again.
Does CountMetrik scan barcodes?
No. CountMetrik is for manual counts when a scanner or inventory system is unnecessary or unavailable. It does not use a camera, barcode database, Bluetooth scanner, or product lookup.
Does my inventory count save offline?
The active count sheet, settings, and archived sessions are stored locally in this browser. After a successful cached visit, the Inventory Counter can continue working offline.
